Nail of the Day - O.P.I Hello Hawaii Ya?

O.P.I Hello Hawaii Ya?

Now I am a big fan of what I like to call a muddy coloured nail polish. I love these shades as they look so chic and sophisticated on the nails and are quickly becoming the new taupe. I recently scoped out the O.P.I Hawaii Collection and the only ones that caught my eye were, That's Hula-rious and Hello Hawaii Ya?. Although for me Hello Hawaii Ya doesn't represent any thing exotic or Summery, this beautiful muted purple is perfect for those Autumn/Winter days, which we are still having at the moment here in the UK. This polish is almost an identical dupe for Leighton Denny's Leading Lilac which I featured in a previous nail of the day.
What's been your favourite colour from the O.P.I Hawaii Collection? Leave me a comment down below or tweet me. Happy Friday!

Benefit Gimme Brow Review and Photos

Benefit Gimme Brow
Over the past few years brow products have become at the forefront of fashion whether your after a pomade, gel, pencil or powder, there is so much choice to choose from. I have recently been obsessed with brow products, especially anything that's new and innovative. Benefit Gimme Brow has been on my wishlist for a while now and I finally got my hands on this recently, so here's my thoughts.
Have you tried this product, did you rate it or hate it, if so what would you recommend instead? Leave a comment down below or tweet me.
Price
This retails for £17.50 for 3.0g of product, which is a pricey brow product for such a small amount, but your brow area is very small so only a little is needed. It comes in two shades, light/medium and medium/deep, I went for the medium/deep to suit my hair colour.
Packaging
I love the kitsch packaging and the eye catching title, which is reminiscent of all Benefit products. Inside the box comes your brow product along with a lovely illustrated leaflet on how to apply this, which is great if you are a complete brow novice. The product itself, although small is the perfect size for your handbag or travel. The brush is minute and is smaller at the bottom and bigger at the top to really get into those brow hairs with ease. It also has a pleasant smell.
Application
This fibre gel product is designed to add fullness to sparse brows, using the miniature, perfectly sized brush. Upon application the colour is really natural looking and grabs onto every hair. If you want a darker look, you can build upon the intensity too. I applied two coats, letting them dry in between each other, but make sure when applying you wipe off the excess so you don't get a build up of product on your brows. Although this covered really well, I would probably use a pencil or powder to finish off filling in any extra sparse areas as I prefer a more full, defined brow, but this is personal preference.
Longevity
On the packaging it mentions the fibre gel is long-wearing and waterproof, this was defiantly put to the test as I sweated it out in the gym and wore this product for a full 12 and a half hours! Overall the longevity was great, the colour still looked the same and it was completely sweat proof. As my hairs on relatively long on my brows, the brow product didn't set the hairs into place and it doesn't claim too, so I would probably use a brow set to finish off to ensure they stayed exactly where they were.
Overall Thoughts
This is a great innovative product to suit everybody, even if you have sparse brows or you like an intense power brow. Although this is a little expensive, it has so many amazing pros that make the Gimme Brow worthy of the price tag. The brush is the perfect size and glides effortlessly through the eyebrows to create a fuller looking, bullet proof brow. The colour is buildable and customisable to whatever look you want to achieve and it's a great handbag/travel size product. In the future it would be great to see Benefit release a wider range of colours to suit an ever growing brow market.

I award the Benefit Gimme Brow 4.7 out of 5

O.P.I Original Nail Envy - The Nail Envy Family

O.P.I - Nail Envy
My nails have been a bit unhappy just lately, they do take a battering from the cold weather and the constant nail polish I apply to them. Nail treatments for me are a fundamental part of making your nails happy and a cuticle oil, good hand cream and nail strengthener can make a world of difference.

Finding a nail strengthener that works for you is a mean task as they are so many on the market and how do you know what works for someone else is going to work for you. I discovered O.P.I Original Envy about six years ago now and I've never looked back. For me this is the ultimate nail strengthener, yes it is pricey, but if you know me by now, you know I like to find an offer some how, some where. The best deal I've found is on QVCUK in the form of a duo, which included the Original Nail Envy and Avoplex together for £23.45 including P&P.

O.P.I Original Nail Envy
Nail Envy works as a treatment for your nails, the idea is you apply two coats at the start of the week, apply another coat every other day and then you remove the treatment at the end of the week and start again. I use this as my base coat and you can also use it on top of colour as it has air pockets that help the nails breath.
O.P.I Matte Nail Envy
O.P.I Original Nail Envy is the best, but I also like the matte version as a maintenance base coat, plus it also helps your colour pop a bit more too. The mini Nail Envy is a pink version, that as far as I know is only sold in the UK on QVCUK. This again is a great maintenance formula and looks pretty on bare nails as it just adds a hint of colour.
O.P.I Pink Nail Envy
Do you swear by another nail strengthener, I'd love to know, let me know in the comments below or tweet me.

The Edge Nails - Brand Review and Photos

The Edge Nails
I kindly received a package from The Edge Nails recently. As you know I am a complete nail addict and so I was excited to try out some of their products they have to offer. The Edge Nails is a British brand who specialise in professional nail products and stock everything from polish to files, lashes to nail art. They are also offering all new customers 20% of your first order, all you need to do is type in WELCOMEOFFER at the checkout. Here's my thoughts.
Nail Polish
The Edge stock a wide selection of on trend shades with over 45 colours to choose from in their core collection alone, so whether your a classic pink or red girl, or like me, you love a more daring green, blue or shimmer, there's something for everybody. Each polish is named after a destination from around the world, ranging from Prague to Barcelona and Coney Island to Rodeo Drive.

These retail for £2.76 each for 11ml of polish, which is amazing value for such a professional formula. The handle has great grip and the brush is a lovely size, which makes applying the colours a breeze, I also loved the consistency of them as they were not to thick or thin, but just right. Most of these polishes are opaque in two coats, although I did find Serrano needed three to get the best coverage. The polish dries within 10 minutes and has a high shine finish, which is great if you don't have time to apply a top coat. The wear time is around 4-5 days depending on if you applied a top coat and lifestyle.

Nail Art
They also have an amazing range of nail art including foils, transfers, glitter, rhinestones, pens and nail wraps in every colour imaginable and perfect for any nail art enthusiast!
Nail Files and Buffers
An impressive variety of nail files, tools, treatments, buffers and crystal nail files can also be found on The Edge website including a beautiful array of Swarovski Crystal Glass Files, that make a lovely gift for anyone who loves a bit of bling as well as caring for their nails.
The Edge Lash FX
Lashes
Not only do The Edge stock a superb range of nail products, they also cater for the lash market too with a pretty selection of Lash FX false lashes.

Overall Thoughts
Most nail polish these days can be purchased in the drugstore, supermarket or online along with everything else, so it's lovely to see a website solely dedicated to nails. Not only is The Edge an affordable, on trend, professional brand, they stock a wide selection of amazing nail art and nail polish to cater for everyone. The Edge Nails is a nail junkies dream and defiantly worth checking out if your struggling to find anything nail related or as a gift for someone that's affordable, professional and on trend.

I award The Edge Nails 4.5 out of 5
